I can’t believe that my time in Croatia is almost over… In some ways I feel like I have been here for ages, but on the other hand, it feels like yesterday that I was on Croatian soil for the first time. As with any change, the feelings are bittersweet. I am excited to see my best friend and my family, I am excited to be back at UNM in an academic setting that I am accustomed to, I am excited to find an internship, eat some New Mexican food, hike up to the Sandias, and be able to drive again. There is so much here too that I will miss: the language, the friends I made, the coast and the sea, the market, the flowers, the cafe culture, the fashion, and the list goes on. I have traveled more than most my age and Croatia is one of the few places that really feels like a home away from home but I know I will be back soon which does ease the pain a little. Until then I am going to enjoy every minute of the last 45 days I have left here in this spectacular country. YOU CAN’T GET RID OF ME JUST YET!
