Another successful Warped Tour is in the books! Being a frequent attendee for 5 consecutive years, I can say that this year was an incredible one. Warped Tour is the largest traveling rock festival touring the United States annually each summer IMG_6163since 1995. From punk, to indie, reggae, and throw in a rapper or two, Warped Tour is a day of fun in the summer heat.

First off, this was by far the best lineup I have seen at Warped. They were incredibly diverse and they brought new and old artists to the stage. Another cool thing they did this year was have it at the Balloon Fiesta Park. For a long time, Warped Tour traveled to Las Cruces. It wasn’t until two years ago that they decided to bring the festival to Albuquerque. When they did, they had it at the Isleta Amphitheater. Though they made it work, it was an upgrade to move it to a completely flat venue like The Balloon Fiesta Park.

Now back to the lineup. It was so good that we had no time to relax. We were constantly jumping from stage to stage. I liked it this way, though, because I got to see so many bandsIMG_3564 that I adore. It’s also really cool because they even had signings for different bands as well. I got to meet the members of Ballyhoo!; a reggae band. If you’re lucky, the band members casually walk around and, if you notice them, you can get a photo!

Warped itself – what can I say? The artists vary year to year, and everyone’s opinion will vary. I always find plenty of bands I like, and if it’s a year without a lot of my favorites, I can usually discover one I didn’t know about. Always worth going.
