What do you want to accomplish before leaving UNM?
I want to start my own club of some sort, study abroad, and become president of Model UN, rush for a sorority, and receive a piggyback ride from Lobo Louie.

What are your favorite events around Albuquerque?
I love Balloon Fiestas of course, but there is also the Greek Festival, Summer Fest, and lots of great bands that come play at our venues.

What surprised you the most about UNM?
That I liked it so much! Being born and raised in New Mexico all I ever wanted was to get away, so I never gave coming here much thought. But once I became apart of campus life I fell in love.

What groups are you active with?
I am active with the UNM Model UN as well as the tennis club. Outside of campus I volunteer at Lovelace Hospital.

Somos ABQ… Illuminate the Good

It has been a whirlwind of a past couple of weeks guys! Outside of school (and the pressuers that come with it) I’ve been getting ready for graduation, planning my future LSAT date, volunteering, but more interestingly I’ve been collaborating with Somos ABQ in order to spread the word on their upcoming downtown festival on September 23rd.

So if you’ve never heard of them,

SOMOSABQ is a city-wide festival that will showcase the very best Albuquerque has to offer. This year at its pilot event there will be live music entertainment, food vendors, local restaurants & craft brewing, arts and culture organizations, nonprofits, technology companies, and so much more!

So why should you come?

This year’s music line up is all on various stages with differents music genres. Headlining the Indie stage is Minus the Bear, Hip Hop is Deltron 3030, and up on Main Stage is Dillion Francis! (Yes this is for real). If that isn’t enough to get you to come out there will be a craft beer-garden for those of legal age, all food is coordinated by Yelp, and a pop-up art show sponsored by Meow Wolf… And it’s all for $10. This is an event to celebrate what we love about Albuquerque and come together as a community.

Since this is a visual event, heres a visual of what you can look forward to… See you there

Life as A Student Employee

You know sometimes, life moves pretty fast… if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. This is my favorite quote of the past year, and although it came from Ferris Bueller, it stands pretty true. However, I’ve never felt these words more clearly than the past few weeks, […]

Exploring New Mexico

This post is a little late, but at the end of May each year up in Northern New Mexico the Brazos Falls run for Memorial Day weekend. My family tries to go up and hike to see the falls almost every year. This year was marked as even more special as my brother just graduated […]

Update on my Semester!

Hi everyone! As this is my first post in a couple months, I’d like to catch everyone up on my semester so far! I actually ended up moving 2 weeks into the semester into a new apartment and found out my new roommates are exchange students from Denmark! Since moving in together we’ve all become […]
