My study abroad program had officially come to an end, and I definitely took the rest of my summer to experience Europe as much as I could. Let me tell you, it was amazing.
During my time abroad, I visited so many different places including Barcelona, Venice, Rome, Athens, Santorini, Paris and Iceland.
First stop: Barcelona. I was in complete awe of the architecture I saw there. Ask any architecture student at UNM, they’ll tell you about Antoni Gaudi and they really aren’t kidding. His work is fantastic. I was in literal awe.
My second stop was Venice, Italy—the town that is underwater. It was so humid, so hot, and so beautiful.
Next, I went to Rome, Italy—also very hot, but one of my favorite places. There was so much history, and as a big history nerd, I loved it. I also was able to go to all the places that Lizzie McGuire went to in the Lizzie McGuire Movie.
My next stop was Athens, Greece—a city of so much history. It was crazy because growing up you always read about Greek Gods and Grecian history, but to finally see it in person is a whole different story.
I finally went to my favorite place in the entire world—Santorini, Greece. It was gorgeous. The sunsets brought tears to my eyes, and the beaches made my heart feel full. I was in love with this island.
After Santorini, I headed to Paris, France. Paris was one of a kind. Everyone was so stylish. I absolutely fell in love with the City of Versailles.
Now it’s time to get back to school. Are you ready Lobos?
